Everyone does it !
I have been very critical about some food banks using their 501-C-3 tax status (charities) as a money
tree. I mostly was critical of the secular charities with their high salaries and bonuses. But, preparing for my talk
with the Federal Department of Agriculture this month, I have learned that some of the faith based charities think they have
found a money tree also.
If I read my Bible correctly, I seem to remember that those that are chosen to serve will be held to a
higher standard. Using charities, whether a faith based or secular, for financial gain is defeating the purpose of charities.
When we claim to be a charity helping underserved people and put money above the people we help, we are
heading down a very slippery slope. Please remember why we are a charity and do the right thing always.

HELPING THE HUNGRY SHOULD NOT BE ALL ABOUT MONEY!

A great opportunity
This month we are invited to speak in front of a committee from the Federal Department of Agriculture
on our assessment of their T.E.F.A.P. food distribution in Florida. I called and talked to them about our concerns and they
told me they would be interested to hear more and to receive a written report on the concerns of the faith based charities
of Florida. I will be writing a special newsletter when I get back from my meeting.
It’s so hard to try to make any changes when you deal with the government and large organizations.
They like the way things have been going and not very open to change, whether you're right or wrong.
God can move mountains, so I am sure He can open the minds of big business and governments. Please keep
us in Prayer.
