DOING WHAT WE DO BEST,
HELPING THE NEEDY!

Scott_and_Lester.jpg

Our meeting with Compassion Alliance was very fruitful. We will be receiving tractor trailers of food in the very near future. This will allow us to help more food pantries and soup kitchens throughout Florida. We are planning to open a warehouse in Citrus County this year. We have expanded Citrus County to double the amount of agencies serving the nutritionally challenged. When we open the warehouse in Citrus, we will be able to open up new areas in Lake and Sumter Counties. We have talked to a ministry in Citrus County to start a food ministry for the homeless of Citrus County and they agreed to start this outreach this month.

In Pasco County we are now working with Suncoast Harvest Food Bank (which is a Second Harvest Food Bank) and we conducted a training meeting in February for the commodity program. With The Volunteer Way and Suncoast Harvest working together, Pasco County’s low income residents will benefit greatly. We will be able to serve more people of Pasco County. Both Scot and I are looking forward to a long and lasting relationship in the fight against poverty.

The Volunteer Way is looking for corporations to help us in our fight to eliminate poverty in our community. There are a lot of people falling through the cracks and we could help these people if we had more assistance from the business community.

The Volunteer Way’s administration costs are only 1/2 of one percent, which means that for every $1.00 donated to The Volunteer Way, $.995 get to where you, the donor, want your donation to go and that is helping less fortunate people of our communities.
