HUNGRY AMERICANS NEED YOUR HELP!

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN HUNGRY?
REALLY HUNGRY?

In these difficult days, we have lines of hungry people coming to The Volunteer Way (TVW) Food Bank for food assistance every day. For those of you that know TVW, which is located on Congress Street in New Port Richey, know that between 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 PM, Congress Street is blocked up with traffic trying to park and pick up food at our facility. We have lines of people picking up food for their families every day. We serve more than 10,000 families that live in Pasco County with food, personal items and a kind word. We also have 28 other charities and 30 food pantries picking up food and personal items for their consumers.

I have lived through the depression and World War II, when food was scarce and rationed. Well, we got through those times and we will get through these times because we are Americans. There has never been or ever will be a more compassionate people on this plant we now live on. When things get tough, Americans of all backgrounds and faiths come together and start helping their fellow Americans. I am starting to see Americans coming together in a common cause, HELPING THEIR LESS FORTUNATE NEIGHBORS.

The Volunteer Way is a very unique charity, we are a food pantry, food bank, sheltered work shop, Access center, Florida KidCare partner, Hydroponic farm plus we help feed 19,000 families each month, deliver food to 100 low-income homebound seniors and much more. We have never charged any fees for the 6,500,000 pounds food and personal items we distributed last year. Our only agenda TVW has is to make sure all people have enough food to stay healthy.

Without the help of our community, we will not be able to expand and meet the ever growing demand for assistance. We realize that we are all having a difficult time, but every one of us can do something to help hungry children and their families. The following is our Wish List:
 * Funds: With gas prices going sky high, our transportation costs are going up. We need funds to enable us to bring more food to our food bank. Our administration costs are less than 1% of our budget.
 * Volunteers: We need office workers, warehouse workers, people to work with our Hydroponic farm, drivers to deliver food to our low-income seniors, Volunteers to run fundraisers and volunteers with multi-skills.
 * Food Drive volunteers: Our food drives are unique and family oriented. Try a food drive in your community and you and your family will help a lot of hungry people, while having fun.
