THE VOLUNTEER WAY NEWSLETTER
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We are at the end of 2008 and soon will be in 2009. I am personally looking forward to serving as C.E.O. of The Volunteer Way Inc. for another year. We are growing so fast, that it is hard to keep up with all the changes we are going through. 2008 has brought many challenges and opportunities, some of the challenges we have meet head on was the loss of U.S.D.A. Commodities. We thought this would bring more hardships on the thousands of families we serve throughout Florida. well, this was not the case. God started to open more doors for us and we have experienced growth beyond our expectations. If anybody tells you it is very dull to be a Christian, do not believe them. My walk with the Lord over the many years has been the most exciting and rewarding time of my life.
"PRAYER WORKS"
The year 2009 will prove to be even more exciting and challenging. We consider each problem to be an opportunity to better serve the less fortunate of our society and to be able to expand our efforts. We are now into Hydroponic farming and we will start developing our 6.89 areas of property to grow vegetables to feed thousands of hungry families we help each month. We are also building a 10,000 square foot building on our new site.
If 2008 is any indication of the direction this economy is going, we are in for a very busy 2009. We can use all the help we can get from our community. We need families to conduct Kids Against Hunger Food Drives, volunteer to work in our hydroponic farm, volunteer to help in our food bank, deliver food to our low-income homebound elderly and help make boxes of food for Pasco County's less fortunate families.
CAN YOU HELP US, TO HELP OTHERS?
"KIDS AGAINST HUNGER FOOD DRIVES"
Kids against hunger is our food drive program, which brings in thousands of pounds of food into our food bank. A food drive is a great community activity for businesses, civic associations, schools, neighborhood leaders, clubs and youth groups. Kids Against Hunger will furnish all the flyers and other needed paper work. If you or your place of employment want to assist the hungry families of Pasco County, please contact us at 727-815-0433, lester@thevolunteerway.org |
