VICTORY GARDENS, FIGHTING HUNGER
"THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX"
This is part of the property that was donated to The Volunteer Way for their Hydroponic Farm. This is only a small part of our property, we have a great potential to produce large amounts of vegetables to feed the hungry people of Florida. With Hydroponic Farming we can harvest twenty times the amount of food per square foot of regular farming.
Victory Gardens were grown during World War Two, by regular people at their homes to help with the shortage of food. I call on all Americans to start those Victory Gardens once more. We are in a time when food will be very hard to find and if we can find food it will be very expensive, especially for the low-income people of our society. If there was ever a time to join together for the common good, it is now.
Without the proper nutrition our elderly has more sicknesses and a poorer quality of life. Our children have problem growing properly and have a more difficult time learning is school.
"KIDS AGAINST HUNGER FOOD DRIVES"
Kids against hunger is our food drive program, which brings in thousands of pounds of food into our food bank. A food drive is a great community activity for businesses, civic associations, schools, neighborhood leaders, clubs and youth groups. Kids Against Hunger will furnish all the flyers and other needed paper work. If you or your place of employment want to assist the hungry families of Pasco County, please contact us at 727-815-0433, lester@thevolunteerway.org
