LET'S PRAY THAT HEARTS WILL BE CHANGED
HUNGER RELIEF IS CHANGING
The Volunteer Way Food Bank
is in a very exciting time of history, food is getting hard to find and there are less sources of food available to food banks.
Many people may think that I flipped my marbles saying that we are in exciting times, but we will be forced to find new ways
to receive food to pass out to the many food pantries and soup kitchen that we serve. One of our most exciting
ways we are going to find food is to start farms and raise our own food. We have at least three growing seasons in Florida,
so this should bring fresh vegetables to help with the dietary needs of our less fortunate of Florida. Next, we will have
youth groups working our farms, which will give our young people a sense of helping their community's hungry families.
This will be great charter building in our young people (our next community leaders). HUNGER
RELIEF IS CHANGING In October 2007, we started a new program called KIDS
AGAINST HUNGER, which brought in thousands of pounds of non-perishable food for the most needy of our community.
Kids Against Hunger not only brought in food and funds but awareness of the many hungry children and the working poor. We intend to have training seminars to train other hunger relief organization in how to run food drives, farming
and many other new sourses of food for their community's hungry families. "THESE
ARE EXCITING TIMES"
JOIN US IN THE STRUGGLE AGAINST HUNGER We need more friends against hunger to help with a food drives, public relations and fundraisers. The Volunteer
Way Food bank is a charity made up of 99% volunteers with only one agenda, that is to help less fortunate people of our communities.
We have no other reason to be in existence, but to help people to have a little better life.
