BUSINESS COMMUNITY HELPING FOOD BANK TO FEED THE HUNGRY CHILDREN AND
THEIR FAMILIES
CURVES ran a food drive in March, 2007 to assist low-income hungry families and the homeless.
Each year CURVES has a food drive to help the communities where their businesses are located. This year, The Volunteer
Way received three (3) TONS of food from three CURVES locations - CURVES located in Holiday on alt.19; CURVES located
on Hwy. 19 in New Port Richey; and CURVES located on Little Road and Ridge Road, New Port Richey. We approached other
CURVES, but they already had a charity they were giving the food to, so it is more then 3 TONS of food CURVES stores donated.
The Volunteer Way is very excited about the business community helping charities feed the less fortunate of our communities.
Another business that helps the communities they work in, is PUBLIX SUPERMARKETS - last
year they donated 1,500,000 pounds of food to feed people in Pasco County. They also donate funds to us each year to help
us do what we do best, “SERVING LOW-INCOME HURTING PEOPLE”. We are a charity not a business, our only agenda
is to serve our community and make it a better place to work and live for all people.
The Volunteer Way Food Bank never charges any fees for the food we distribute to
soup kitchens, food pantries and individuals. Last year, The Volunteer Way distributed 5,000,000 pounds of food
and personal items throughout Florida and we are in expansion mode. We hope to double the amount of food we distribute
by December, 2008. Our site plan for our new warehouse is progressing and we are opening new areas in Pasco County.
