For the past 14 years The Volunteer Way has been partnering with Publix Supermarkets to eliminate hunger in Florida.
Publix donates thier near-outdated and outdated food to our Harvest program - we get that donated food to soup kitchens
and food pantries. Over these 14 years, Publix has donated over fifteen million pounds (15,000,000) of
food just in Pasco County. Publix has been a faithful giver in the counties in which they have stores.
Many times I would call Publix and ask them for plastic bags or other non-food help - they have never said no.
In most recent years, Publix has been donating funds to help us with our overhead. In the picture above, District Manager
Jack Daniels presents a check in the amount of $10,800.00 to Kim Hoffman Asst. C.E.O. and to Lester Cypher C.E.O.
As all our readers already know we have started a new charity (FAHRM -
www.fahrm.org) which will be a fundraiser federation to help the many dedicated small charities that never receive any financial help from
local organizations. We will be approaching Publix Supermarkets to allow us in their yearly employee payroll campaign. We
also will be approaching other large and small businesses to be part of their campaigns.
If the smaller charities ever had to close their door to the needy of their communities it would be a disaster, but can
you imagine how much good they could do by getting just a little help from their community. They could double or triple their
efforts. Keep us in your Prayers.
