Brown Bag for Seniors

Loneliness and Hunger affects the quality of life for our senior citizens!

Brown Bag Program
With the aging of our population, increased attention is needed for the low income, homebound elderly in our communities. Adequate nutrition is critical to health, functioning and the quality of life of our seniors. Our Brown Bag Program helps improve the dietary intake of our participants and offers opportunities to form new friendships and create a supportive network.

Our Brown Bag Program helps the seniors that are the most vulnerable in our society. Many of our seniors are receiving less than $700.00 per month, and after they pay rent and utilities, there is not enough money to pay for food, doctors, medicines and other necessities. TVW delivers 40 to 60 pounds of food and personal items every third week of the month so that they will have enough food until they receive their Social Security checks.

Help us continue to bring food to the low-income homebound elderly. We are in need of non perishable food like, low sugar cereals, low sodium soups, vegetables and canned meats. Also, we can always use volunteers that are willing to deliver food, once a month, to the Brown Bag recipients.
